An Even Better Bye Week for the Vikings
When the Vikings finished their eighth game of the season against… it’s been so long I forgot. They established a two and a half game lead over the Bears and the Packers.
Now after eleven days, (and a Thursday night Bear loss) the Vikings will wake up tomorrow look at the following records:
Viking 7 – 1
Packers 4 – 4
Bears 4 – 5
Lions (On verge of elimination of the NFC North Title this weekend if they lose).
So the nearest opponent of the Vikings at this time is the Packers who are three full games back, plus the tie-breaker. For the Pack to win the North, they would to make up four games in eight weeks. Not easy to do when you look at their schedule (as well as the Vikings schedule).
The Bears have the advantage of getting to play the Vikings twice yet, but one loss to the Vikings would take care of the tie-breaker in the Vikings favor. Having been a Viking fan for a long time, I know strange things can happen, but… we could be crowning repeat NFC North Champions sooner rather than later.
